We’re going to create a community “Ofrenda” for the Bagua Family where we can all contribute starting on Thursday Oct 29, bring your ofrendas, pictures of your love ones that passed away, fruit, candles and flowers.
We’re going to build a safe place where we can all collaborate bringing back the lovely memories of those who are not with us anymore.
On Sunday Nov 1st, we are going to offer a workshop to explain the elements and meaning of giving an “Ofrenda” the Day of the Dead so you can create a little box with your tools to take home and build your personal altar to keep for the rest of the month.
Participants needs to bring:
- a picture of a family member, pet, or any love one that passed away.
- A box (Be creative from a shoe box to a wooden one).
- Objects related to the Altar (commemorative)
What is an OFRENDA? It’s a collection of objects placed in a ritual ALtAR featuring the 4 elements: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water to celebrate the LIFE of our deceased ones.
For Mexicans it is a celebration with Flowers, incense, papel picado, music and more…
It’s a labor of LOVE
